Sticky Staff Spotlight: Giacomo Cannata

I love telling stories that deeply connect with the audience. For me, every story deserves to be brought to life through beautiful cinematography or photography.

Get to know Giacomo Cannata, Senior Producer at Sticky…

He talks about his background in media production, his work on thought leadership videos, a typical week at Sticky and much more.

What do you do at Sticky in one sentence?

As a Senior Producer at Sticky, I lead the entire production process. This includes conceptualising creative ideas, overseeing the final delivery, ensuring each piece of video, animation, and photography content captures audience curiosity, and making sure it aligns with strategic goals.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

My cat Mikey, every morning at 7:00am (clearly, I’m not an early bird!).

I love telling stories that deeply connect with the audience. For me, every story deserves to be brought to life through beautiful cinematography or photography. I’m very curious about almost everything, so there is always a reason to get out of bed.

What’s your background and experience?

With over 20 years of experience in media production, my career has evolved from being a photographer to becoming a filmmaker, director, and producer. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of telling hundreds of stories for an array of clients, from renowned corporations like Google, Bloomberg, and Burberry to innovative startups, non-profits, and government entities.

What is your proudest moment in your career so far?

It’s hard to pick just one, but at the top of the list are the launch of Sticky’s agency-led report ‘The Power of Curiosity’ and the videos we produced for Meta about thought leadership. For these videos we interviewed former gang leader Karl Lokko who discussed the lessons he learned and the transferable life skills he used to build a successful career as an activist, campaigner, and entrepreneur.

Sometimes I’m working on creating video content to simplify complex subjects or creating impactful video advertising campaigns. Other days I’m shooting product photography and developing engaging social media content.

What is a typical week for you at Sticky?

My weeks are never the same. Sometimes I’m working on creating video content to simplify complex subjects or creating impactful video advertising campaigns. Other days I’m shooting product photography and developing engaging social media content.

What type of projects do you work on?

I work on a range of projects. At the moment, I’m working with colleagues to produce a product photoshoot for a global company, I’m in post-production for a series of B2B videos for Meta and am organising a podcast for a pharmaceutical company.

What role do you see your department playing in the future of Sticky?

The production department is expanding this year, which is exciting. We aim to manage an even larger workload and to be at the forefront of the generative AI revolution in images and videos.

How can someone come to you for help?

The easiest way is to send me an email at giacomo.cannata@stickycontent.co.uk. I’m always open to discussing our work and how we can help companies connect with their audience, as well as talking about AI.
